2008 KISS Schedule Promises Spring Excitement

January 19, 2008 –- The Alberta Clipper? A Siberian Cold Wave? It’s just Mother Nature’s way of helping us better appreciate pleasant spring weather. With the first official day of spring less than 60 days away, planning for the racing season has moved into top gear. Six of the top sprint car venues in the nation will present the 2008 King Of Indiana Sprint Series programs.

SCHEDULE. Gas City’s I-69 Speedway will again launch the KISS program as they drop the green flag on Friday, May 16. The second round comes just a week later as Lawrenceburg Speedway adds wheel-to-wheel sprint car racing to the Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 24. Bloomington Speedway hosts the KISS racers and fans the next weekend, with a Friday night show on May 30. The fourth weekend of KISS racing is a double-header, with Haubstadt’s Tri-State Speedway running Saturday night, June 7, followed by Kokomo Speedway’s annual Sunday show on June 8. The series will then celebrate the first day of summer by crowning the 2008 King Of Indiana on Saturday, June 21 at Paragon Speedway.

CHAMPIONS. Jon Stanbrough is the defending KISS champion. Only Billy Puterbaugh kept Stanbrough from sweeping all of the 2008 races. He has worn the King’s crown three of the past five years and his 11 KISS feature wins tops the series’ history.

SPONSORS. Bedford’s Indiana Stone Works, Elliottbrand Web Designs, in Westport, IN, and Kiva Networking in Bloomington are returning sponsors for the KISS series. KISS is continuing to look for sponsorships for the upcoming series. Not only will a sponsor actively participate in one of the most exciting sprint car programs of the coming season, but their investment will also garner the benefits of broad visibility and productive publicity among a growing segment of motorsports enthusiasts in Indiana’s most active metropolitan areas. For more information contact the promoter at your closest KISS racing track.
